Nationwide Criminal Background Check
This product is used to locate potential criminal records beyond the
states and counties where an applicant has lived. The nationwide database
compiles publicly available information from over 500 million online sources.
Sources may include: Department of Corrections, Administrative Office of Courts,
statewide repositories and some local county records. Nationwide database
searches should not be confused with a National Crime Information
Center search also known as NCIC. NCIC searches are not made
available to the public. Because the information in a criminal database
search is not considered to be the most up to date and accurate resource,
it must be used in conjunction with a county criminal background check.
This search is designed to be used as a tool for locating potential records.
Scope: Our standard search is 7 years. 10-year searches are
also available if not restricted by the FCRA.
Turnaround time (average): 1 Business day. Common names and names with potential records may take longer..
Type of Source: : Sources may include: Department of Corrections,
Administrative Office of Courts, statewide repositories and some local county records.
Required Information:
- Name
- Date of Birth (DOB)
- Address History
- AKA's, nick names and maiden names you wish to have searched (adding additional names to
your order will increase the cost of the search as this search is primarily name driven.)
Method: The search is conducted by name
then validated by identifiers (DOB, address, SSN, etc.). You may choose to limit the
search to one state (statewide database search), or you may search all states
(nationwide database search). If a record is found, BLI will automatically confirm its
accuracy with the originating source at the county courthouse.
